American Patchwork Quilt – QU03

Original, late 19th century patchwork quilt top from America.
Antique and one of a kind, this quilt top was in excellent condition when purchased by Tinsmiths but had never been made into a quilt. It is hand pieced with repeated patchwork blocks in tones of blue, green, pink and orange. When purchased the quilting process had begun on a couple of blocks, we salvaged the intended backing material to use as the binding.
It has been made into a quilt in 2024 using 100% organic cotton batting. The new backing is an organic cotton calico. The edge binding is the original intended backing which has been handsewn to bind the edges. The machine quilting is in an all over meander style. This process gives a fresh new quilt with all the subtlety of the antique fabrics by using an heirloom patchwork top.
This quilt is in near perfect condition, there is some very minor fading (please refer to photographs).

Delivery is £8.50 for UK orders and £4.75 for small or light items. We will advise you by email or telephone if there is a surcharge payable for instance to deliver to Scottish Highlands and Islands.
