Carole has taken inspiration from Thomas Toft’s seventeenth century plate which depicts a lion and unicorn flanking Charles the Second as he hides in an oak tree. An original Toft version can be found in The British Museum’s collection.

Carole’s pieces are inspired by traditional Staffordshire slipware techniques.
