Candle Safety:
- Burning candles should never be left unattended.
- Extinguish all candles when you leave a room. Be sure the wick ember is no longer glowing.
- Keep candles at a safe distance from flammable elements.
- Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Trim the wick to 1/4 length before lighting it.
Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning, dripping, or flaring. - Always use a candlestick specially designed for the use of candles.
The candle holder must be heat-resistant, sturdy and large enough to contain any dripping or melted wax. The candle should also sit firmly and securely in the candle holder so the candle does not wobble or tip easily. - Keep candles free from dirt/dust.
- Read and follow the safety instructions before using candles.
Most candles burn optimally for a few hours at a time, after which they should be extinguished. - Extinguish candles with a candle snuffer instead of blowing them out.
This allows you to prevent hot wax from splattering.
