Renowned willow weaver Jenny Crisp and daughter Issy Wilkes are Willow with Roots. This mother-daughter partnership shares a passion for combining traditional basket making and willow growing with unique and innovative design.

From planting and nurturing the willow, to harvesting and weaving the whips, Jenny and Issy are involved in every step of the process, resulting in the most beautiful and accomplished baskets, trays, vessels and lightshades.

Jenny Crisp has been a basket maker and willow grower for nearly 40 years and is one of the most respected craftswomen working in the UK today. Jenny brings a wealth of experience having devoted her career to mastering traditional willow weaving skills and techniques.

Issy Wilkes is trained in design for theatre, festivals, and events, graduating with a first class honours degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2016. Since then, Issy has worked on a variety of different festivals, theatre shows and pantomimes in the UK and US before joining forces with her mother to create Willow with Roots, bringing her own unique and imaginative approach to each project.
